NEWARK BAY Just a 5 minute walk from Quoyeden. Pop down and watch the seals! Lots of bird life, including Oystercatchers, Fulmars, Terns & Curlews (to name a few)
SUNSET The sunsets in Orkney are breathtaking. This is another photo taken from the front garden of the house.
ST.MAGNUS CATHEDRAL-KIRKWALL one of Orkney's most magnificent landmarks - towering above the Kirkwall landscape with its distinctive red sandstone hues. Work began on construction of the 'finest church the North had ever seen' in 1137, and it now belongs to the 'people of Kirkwall'.
THE ITALIAN CHAPEL - is know as the “The Miracle of Camp 60”. The Prisoners of Camp 60 that arrived in Orkney in 1942 to help construct the Churchill Barriers, left behind an unusual memorial on the small island of Lamb Holm. Two Nissan huts were converted into this beautiful chapel and inside beautiful paintings were created by Domenico Chiocchetti, one of the prisoners. This is one of the most visited sites in Orkney. ( A 10 min drive from Quoyeden)

Orkney has the most amazing coast line. This is MARWICK HEAD, an RSPB reserve, with the Kitchener memorial at the highest point.
SCAPAFLOW-Where the German fleet was scuttled at the end of the 1st World War. You can dive onto the wrecks with the local scuba diving club.

SKARA BRAE-On the southern shore of the Bay o' Skaill, in the West Mainland parish of Sandwick, is the Neolithic village of Skara Brae - one of Orkney's most-visited ancient sites and regarded by many as one of the most remarkable monuments in Europe.
