I had to write to you and thank you for such an amazing stay at your cottage. The weather was amazing as were the beaches and the walks. The Byre was cosy and we loved the views from the conservatory. Oh and the visiting daytime Owl! I have to say that it is beautiful spot. It was the ideal place for us, with David, me and the kids in The Croft and my parents in The Byre. It was great that we could also bring the dogs with us. To whom it may concern: I stayed at The Byre for 5 days in March 2015. What a find! I found it to be a very cosy and very well equipped (it even has electric blankets in the bed). When I lit the stove the whole place was lovely and warm within about 45 minutes (the coal is free) Even though I was there on my own I had the amazing scenery and wild life to keep me company. From the conservatory I watched the Hen Harriers and Owls hunting. The Owl would regularly perch on a fence post right next to the conservatory, a matter of inches away from me-Amazing! Oyster Catchers, Curlews and Geese everywhere. The walks are fantastic and the beach is literally just down the lane. It took me 15 minutes to walk it. I didn't rush. I am planning to come back again this summer. It will be interesting to see how the place changes over the seasons. I highly recommend The Byre for your Orkney experience. The weather was mixed but we did get a fair bit of sunshine. Orkney really is an amazing place and we thank you for all the tips you gave us about the places to visit. very useful! Connor (our 5 year old) loved the excitement of the sofa bed (strange what excites the wee ones) and Spanner the Spaniel loved the beaches! We had a lovely week and the weather was very kind.
The cottage was clean and tidy and very well equipped. We have rented all over Scotland and this was certainly up there with the best. It was our first visit to the island and it didn't disappoint and I' m sure we will return in the future.

You have done a great job with the conversion. We liked the mix of old/traditional and modern.
The cow pics are fab! The great sea views and the beach just down the road were great bonuses.
We just loved sitting out in the conservatory with a glass of wine watching the sun set-awesome! We'll be back!

Our second visit was even better than our first. The house was once again very clean, warm and cosy and had everything we needed. Plenty of space for the dogs and just a stones throw from the beach. Just wanted to say thank you, we had an excellent time staying at Quoyeden.
Great quiet location and we had sunshine every, so thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The dog is exhausted from
exploring beaches and we got to visit almost all the places we didn't see on
our first (2 day) visit to Orkney. Still have plenty of places on the list
now for next time however!
Are you renting the cottage out next year? If so are the rates the same and
do you have the first two weeks in June free?
